Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling: From Barriers to Breakthroughs
Event Details
What is standing between you and your next level? Is it a lack of opportunity, confidence, connections, resources—or perhaps a barrier you can't quite see but can definitely feel?
Join us for a powerful and candid conversation with Shane Carlin, an accomplished higher education administrator, fundraiser, mentor, coach, public speaker, and passionate advocate for empowering others. With more than 30 years of experience in higher education administration, fundraising, leadership development, mentoring, and international engagement, Shane brings a wealth of real-world experience to the conversation. His career has included work with institutions such as Northwestern, Miami University, Capital University, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as well as international social-service organizations. He has shared his expertise with universities, professional conferences, Fortune 500 companies, and international audiences—including speaking engagements in the United States, Hong Kong, China, and South Korea, as well as TEDx Lakeshore East.
Come ready to ask questions, challenge assumptions, leave with new perspectives and practical ideas you can put into action.
But this conversation is about more than a résumé. It is about how you navigate obstacles, build relationships, recognize opportunities, advocate for yourself and others, and keep moving forward when the path isn't always clear. Whether you are trying to break through your own bamboo ceiling, climb the corporate ladder, transition into leadership, raise funds for an organization or project, build a professional network, or simply find the courage to take your next step, Shane will share lessons drawn from decades of experience mentoring students, professionals, organizations, and emerging leaders around the world.
Different Perspectives. Real Challenges. Practical Wisdom.
This webinar is designed for anyone who has ever asked: "What's next for me?"
